Job summary

ARH JURUKUR BAHAN SDN BHD seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage pre/post-contract activities, cost estimation, and procurement. You will verify drawings, prepare tender docs, progress claims, and final accounts, while coordinating with stakeholders across infrastructure and M&E projects.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying and 8+ years of relevant experience, with skills in Revit/Glodon and strong negotiation abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent required.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in infrastructure, civil works or M&E projects.
• Experience in rail infrastructure projects involving railway systems is an added advantage.
• Ability to read drawings, specs, quantities and costs, esp. for M&E packages.
• Proficient in MS Office; BIM workflow familiarity is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Handle QS duties including cost control, claims, and final accounts.
• Prepare and certify progress claims and payments.
• Carry out measurement of quantities for tender docs and progress payments.
• Prepare variation orders, remeasurement and final accounts.
• Prepare financial statements and maintain project databases.

Job description

To handle all matters related to QS studies includes contract management, tendering (pre-post contract), estimation of cost and sources, site visit, liaise with sub-con, preparing and certifying progress claims and payment.

Possess sound knowledge of market rates, cost control, preparation of claims and site evaluation.

To read drawings/plans well and possess good negotiation skills with suppliers/contractors on quotations and procurement.

To verify, prepare database, process and manage all matters related to QS duties.

To involve in measurement of quantities for purpose of tender documentation and progress payment.

To prepare and assess variation order, remeasurement and final account.

To prepare financial statement.

Job Highlights

Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.

Minimum 8 years of relevant working experience in infrastructure, civil works or Electrical and Mechanical (M&E) projects. Experience in rail infrastructure projects involving railway systems and/or M&E works will be an added advantage.

Ability to review drawings, specifications, quantities and costs, particularly for M&E packages.

Able to work independently with minimal supervision and manage assigned tasks effectively.

Experience in both Pre-Contract and Post-Contract stages of construction projects.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.

Familiarity with BIM workflows and experience in quantity take-off using Autodesk Revit and/or Glodon software will be an added advantage.

Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Willing to travel and attend site visits or meetings as required by project needs.
