Job summary

PERSYS SURFACE TECHNOLOGY SDN. BHD. in Penang seeks a degree-backed QA/QC professional with 5+ years in metal surface treatment or production to lead quality initiatives. 1–2 years in a senior QA/QC role is a plus. You will drive process improvements, ensure QC standards, and support internal and external audits.

The role requires ISO 9001 knowledge, MS Excel/Word proficiency, and hands-on chemical handling with 8D reporting. Mandarin preference for client communication.

Qualifications

• Degree holder in Chemical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of working experience in metal surface treatment or production environment (1–2 years in senior QA/QC role is an advantage).
• Experience in process improvement, cycle-time reduction, or productivity improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of QC processes, inspection methods, and product acceptance criteria.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001; exposure to ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 is an added advantage.
• Experience supporting internal audits and external/customer audits.
• Able to manage manpower allocation and coordinate daily task distribution effectively.
• Able to escalate technical or quality issues clearly to Manager level.
• Basic knowledge of EHS practices and chemical handling requirements.
• Basic computer skills in MS Excel & MS Word.
• Experience in preparing 8D report for quality related issue.
• Familiar with motion-times measurement engineering.
• Hand-on in chemical handling & test analysis.
• Firm personalities.
• Assist with any other tasks or duties assigned by supervisors or management.
• Preferred Mandarin speaker to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily task distribution and manpower allocation effectively.
• Escalate technical or quality issues clearly to the Manager.
• Assist with audits internal and external/customer audits as needed.
• Support supervisors or management with additional tasks or duties.
• Prepare 8D reports for quality-related issues.
• Engage in chemical handling and related test analyses as required.
• Communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients (preferred).
