Job summary

Test Tooling Solutions Group in Penang, Malaysia is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to conduct daily inspections and testing across materials and finished goods. You will work with the production team to ensure quality standards are met and non-conforming parts are identified and resolved.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, using microscopes and precision measuring tools, and reporting findings to the QA Engineer.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and product specifications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer skills.
• Familiar with microscopes and measurement equipment such as micrometers, measuring scopes, and other precision instruments.
• Strong math skills, including calculations of averages and percentages.
• Ability to follow department procedures and work instructions with minimal supervision.
• Capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure quality standards.
• Strong ability to present information clearly and respond to questions from diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections and testing of new, existing, and competitive products using inspection equipment.
• Perform First Piece Checks and additional inspections as required.
• Assist QA Engineer in coordinating resolutions for quality issues.
• Evaluate parts from machinists and vendors against drawings for compliance.
• Prepare reports and charts based on inspection data.
• Approve conforming parts and document non-conforming parts.
• Ensure ISO 9001 compliance and 5S practices.
• Cover duties in QA department when needed.
