Job summary

ASE Semiconductor (Penang) Sdn. Bhd. in Bayan Lepas, Malaysia, seeks a Quality Engineer to uphold manufacturing quality and compliance across the production chain.

You will lead investigations, apply 8D/5 Why, drive CAPA, and collaborate with Process, Product, Manufacturing, Test, and Customer Quality teams to resolve issues and improve yield. The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering and at least 3 years in semiconductor/electronics manufacturing, with knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years in Semiconductor or Electronics Manufacturing.
• Experience in QA/QE, Supplier QA, or Manufacturing QA.
• Proficient with quality tools (8D, 5 Why, FMEA, SPC, CAPA).
• Familiar with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Independent with cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Support daily manufacturing quality activities and ensure compliance.
• Review production lots and disposition non-conforming materials.
• Lead quality investigations and drive CAPA.
• Collaborate with Process, Product, Manufacturing, Test, and Customer Quality teams to resolve issues.
• Monitor yield, defect trends, customer complaints, MRB aging, and KPIs.
• Evaluate excursions and perform risk assessments.
• Support customer and internal audits and quality system compliance.
• Review and maintain quality documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce defects and improve efficiency.
• Provide guidance and quality awareness training.
• Prepare quality reports, presentations, and investigation summaries.
