Job summary

Mason & Co in Malaysia seeks an experienced Quality Assurance leader to strengthen the QMS and ensure product and process compliance with customer, regulatory and internal quality requirements.

You will lead audits, CAPA programs and supplier quality, drive continuous improvement and mentor QA/QC teams, coordinating with Operations, Engineering, Production, Planning and Supply Chain to deliver robust quality across all products and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and QMS.
• Experience with customer quality, complaint handling, CAPA and 8D.
• Knowledge of SPC, Cp/Cpk, PFMEA, 5-Why, Fishbone, and other quality tools.
• Ability to read technical drawings, GD&T.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience mentoring QA/QC teams is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain the QMS in accordance with ISO 9001 and customer/regulatory requirements.
• Oversee product, process and material quality to ensure compliance with specs.
• Develop and review inspection, sampling, control plans and test methods.
• Support NPI, process changes and engineering changes from a quality perspective.
• Conduct PFMEA, process risk assessments and Cp/Cpk studies.
• Oversee incoming, in-process and final inspection activities.
• Ensure traceability, documentation and control of quality records.
• Lead customer complaints, returns, deviations and quality escalations.
• Conduct root cause analysis and drive CAPA.
• Prepare and manage 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, Pareto and other problem-solving activities.
• Monitor quality KPIs such as PPM, defects, scrap and COPQ.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce defects and costs.
• Manage supplier quality, including supplier audits and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Production, Planning, Supply Chain and Sales on quality matters.
• Lead and support internal, customer and external audits.
• Conduct process audits and layered process inspections.
• Review and approve quality reports and certificates of conformity.
• Control and verify measurement and inspection equipment.
• Mentor QA Engineers, QC Technicians and Inspectors.
• Promote quality awareness across the organization.
• Act as QA focal point for audits.

• Lead and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001, customer and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee product, process and material quality to ensure compliance with internal and customer specifications.
• Develop and review inspection plans, sampling plans, control plans and test methods.
• Support NPI, process changes and engineering changes from a quality perspective.
• Conduct and support PFMEA, process risk assessments and process capability studies including Cp/Cpk.
• Oversee incoming, in-process and final inspection activities.
• Ensure proper traceability, documentation and control of quality records.
• Lead customer complaints, returns, deviations and quality escalations.
• Conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Prepare and manage 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, Pareto and other problem-solving activities.
• Monitor quality KPIs including PPM, defects, scrap, rework and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, variation and quality-related costs.
• Manage supplier quality performance, including supplier audits and corrective actions.
• Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Production, Planning, Supply Chain and Sales on quality-related matters.
• Lead and support internal, customer and external certification audits.
• Conduct process audits and layered process inspections to ensure compliance with established standards.
• Review and approve quality reports, inspection results and certificates of conformity.
• Control and verify measurement and inspection equipment.
• Mentor and develop QA Engineers, QC Technicians and QC Inspectors.
• Promote quality awareness and continuous improvement across the organization.
• Act as the QA focal point for customer, certification and regulatory audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Manufacturing, Mechanical, Quality, Industrial Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Strong experience in customer quality, complaint handling, CAPA and 8D problem solving.
• Good knowledge of SPC, Cp/Cpk, PFMEA, 5-Why, Fishbone and other quality tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and GD&T.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of quality documentation and QMS software is an advantage.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and lead cross-functional quality initiatives.
• Experience in mentoring or supervising QA/QC teams.
