Job summary

RHB Bank Berhad in Malaysia seeks a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to elevate quality engineering across the SDLC. You will drive SIT governance, test data strategy, and DevTestOps within an Agile delivery setup, partnering with Product Owners, Developers, and DevOps teams to ensure robust, scalable releases.

The role emphasizes hands-on automation with Selenium/Cucumber/Cypress/Playwright, CI/CD integration, and leadership of testing initiatives and external vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5–8 years in Software Quality Assurance, Test Automation, or Quality Engineering roles.
• Strong experience with test automation frameworks and tools (Selenium, Cucumber, Cypress, Playwright, Jenkins, CircleCI).
• Hands-on in CI/CD pipelines and DevOps environments.
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and quality engineering principles.
• Experience with TDD, ATDD, BDD, XP, and related practices.
• Knowledge of software testing lifecycle, test strategy, governance, and defect management.
• Experience in test data management and environment coordination across apps/teams.
• Ability to lead testing initiatives and manage external vendors/partners.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
• Banking/financial services or large-scale digital transformation exp is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Establish and govern SIT processes for high-quality releases before UAT.
• Design end-to-end test data strategy aligned with requirements.
• Drive DevTestOps adoption by integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts.
• Collaborate with Dev and Ops to promote testable code and quality principles.
• Define testing methodologies and architectures for scalable delivery.
• Lead external vendors and SIT testing teams to ensure timely delivery.
• Identify test requirements and ensure coverage across functional and non-functional areas.
• Perform exploratory, functional, regression, and integration testing as needed.
• Develop and execute test cases, data, and validation artefacts.
• Monitor progress and implement dashboard-driven reporting to reduce manual effort.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve defects with cross-functional teams.
