Job summary

Inter Island Group Pte Ltd. in Malaysia seeks a Purchasing Manager to lead inspection and procurement operations across inbound/outbound channels. You will schedule manpower, assign leads, negotiate deals, and drive high-volume retail transactions while ensuring tight turnaround times.

You will oversee post-bid coordination, collaborate with BST and TCA teams, and deliver weekly reports on performance and compliance, with a focus on operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in automotive procurement, sales management, or branch operations.
• Proven track record of managing large teams of inspectors or frontline staff in a high-pressure environment.
• Exceptional negotiation and persuasion skills with a focus on closing high-value retail deals.
• Strong ability to track operational metrics, manage scheduling spreadsheets, and produce accurate weekly performance reports.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to manage internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Ability to work 6 days a week (including weekends) in a retail/branch-based setting.

Responsibilities

• Workforce Scheduling: Strategize and manage daily manpower schedules for inbound and outbound inspectors to ensure 100% coverage.
• Lead Management: Assign new leads to inspectors and monitor progress to meet turnaround time and SLAs.
• Capacity Optimization: Review capacity for low/high volume periods and optimize completion times.
• Website Lead Conversion: Oversee funnel and educate customers on inspection process and flow.
• Deal Negotiation: Manage negotiation post-inspection to secure vehicle purchases and meet targets.
• Proactive Follow-ups: Lead daily follow-ups with pending customers to drive confirmation or bidding participation.
• Bidding Management: Manage post-bid communication and facilitate offer acceptance or rejection.
• Cross-functional Coordination: Liaise with BST to secure appointment slots and ensure smooth ownership transfer.
• Reporting & Quality Assurance: Weekly TCA reporting and data accuracy for inspection reports.
• Valuation Support: Provide rapid car value estimations to expedite decision-making.
