Job summary

Jabil in Malaysia is seeking a strategic leader to supervise the Purchasing Staff within the Workcell and drive the development and implementation of supply chain strategies. The role ensures materials supply aligns with demand while optimizing overall material costs.

The candidate will recruit, develop, and coach the team, manage performance, and coordinate with the Workcell Manager, BUM, and peers to meet operational goals and cost targets.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and three to five years of experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Management, Business Administration, or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and interview Purchasing Staff.
• Monitor turnover and identify improvements.
• Coach and mentor Materials staff to deliver excellence to internal and external customers.
• Create and manage succession plans for Materials function.
• Establish clear measurable goals and objectives for individuals and team.
• Provide ongoing coaching based on feedback from WCM, BUM, peers and staff.
• Drive continuous improvement in key operational metrics and organizational goals.
• Organize weekly department communication and present ideas in a professional style.
• Define, develop and implement a Materials strategy aligned with campus directions.
• Identify ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems.
• Prepare timely forecasts for the department.
