Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Project Quality Engineer based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, to plan, organize, lead, and monitor quality activities across projects. You will ensure alignment with the project quality management system and drive QA/QC throughout project execution, including site visits and customer interfaces.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Engineering, 5–10 years in EPC projects, and familiarity with quality tools like 8D, RCA, PDCA, and FMEA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a scientific discipline is required. Master's degree is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in an EPC project-based environment; 10 years preferred.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 is preferred; Lead Auditor certification is an advantage.
• Experience with PQP, ITPs, inspections, COPQ, and lessons learned is essential.
• Proficiency in quality and problem-solving methodologies (8D, RCA, PDCA, 5W, L6S, FMEA).

Responsibilities

• Lead and monitor quality activities across projects to meet contractual requirements.
• Develop and implement the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and project documentation.
• Participate in project stage gates and document lessons learned and mitigation actions.
• Act as main interface with customers for Project Quality matters.
• Drive QA and QC culture throughout project execution.
• Support NCR management and address non-conformances with timely resolutions.
• Monitor and report on Quality KPIs such as COPQ and T-NPS.
