Job summary

Flintex Consulting Pte Ltd in Malaysia (Johor/Kulai) is seeking a product design engineer with strong mechanical design skills. You will lead design efforts for connector solutions, translate customer requirements into drawings and specifications, and validate designs against international standards.

Required are a BE/ME with minimum 3 years in product design, proficiency in CAD/CAE tools like CREO and ANSYS, and experience with 3D CAD modeling and engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of product design development experience with strong engineering and design principles.
• Experience in interconnects design industry is desirable; senior roles require leadership and lifecycle knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve products with focus on engineering design and manufacturability.
• Translate customer requirements into product drawings and specifications; conduct design analysis and tolerance analysis.
• Validate designs per customer requirements and standards; lead DFM discussions with Process Design team.
• Improve product designs to reduce manufacturing costs and drive quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product readiness and customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

Participate in development of new products and product improvements with disciplined focus in product engineering design of connector solution.

Design and develop quality product and ensuring manufacturability with other engineering functions involved in product development.

Perform product design activity which includes translating customer requirements into product drawings and product specification, design analysis and verification, tolerance analysis, DFMEA, etc.

Ensure product designs are validated per customer requirements, respecting international industry standards.

Take Project Leadership role, define and reconcile technical DFM with Process Design team

Responsible for product engineering of responsible product line; and be part of integrated team anticipating and resolving customer dissatisfaction.

Improve product designs to bring about reduction in manufacturing cost.

Job Requirement

Bachelor / Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing or other relevant discipline

Minimum 3 years of product design development experience with excellent grasp of Engineering and Design principles.

Experience in interconnects design industry is desirable. Senior/Staff position requires excellent design leadership skills and relevant product life-cycle knowledge.

Proficient with Mechanical Design, Solid Mechanics theory and its application to product design

Familiar with CAD/CAE tool: Pro-Engineer CREO/ANSYS

3D CAD modeling is a must

Familiar with engineering drawing standards

Working knowledge of connector application, plastic technology, insert-molding, stamping processes is preferred.
