Senior Procurement Strategist: AI-Driven Sourcing

Job summary

A leading technology-driven organisation is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist for a 12-month contract in Petaling Jaya. You will manage medium-complexity sourcing projects across Professional and Corporate Services, partnering with stakeholders to deliver value beyond cost savings.

You will lead RFQs/RFPs, analyse spend, negotiate with suppliers and drive procurement strategy while leveraging AI and automation to improve workflows. Onsite work is required in Petaling Jaya.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Finance or related field.
• 5+ years of procurement/sourcing experience, preferably in Professional Services, Corporate Services or indirect procurement.
• Strong experience in strategic sourcing, RFQ/RFP management, supplier evaluation and commercial negotiation.
• Good understanding of cost analysis, spend analysis and procurement strategies.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence without formal authority.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience with procurement systems and data analysis tools is an advantage.
• Comfortable learning and applying AI and automation tools in day-to-day work.
• Self-driven, commercially minded and able to manage multiple sourcing workstreams independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end sourcing activities from strategy development through supplier selection and award.
• Conduct spend analysis, supplier profiling and market research to identify procurement opportunities.
• Develop and manage RFQs/RFPs, including evaluation criteria, timelines and governance.
• Prepare quotation comparisons, cost models and business cases to support decision-making.
• Lead supplier negotiations and develop commercial positions, trade-offs and recommendations.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Compliance, IT Security and other stakeholders throughout the sourcing process.
• Manage supplier relationships and monitor commercial and contractual outcomes.
• Identify and mitigate procurement, supplier and commercial risks.
• Explore and apply AI, automation and low-code/no-code tools to improve procurement workflows and efficiency.
• Provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders based on data and commercial analysis.
