Job summary

Raffles American School in Iskandar Puteri, Malaysia seeks a Senior Purchasing & Inventory Executive to support day-to-day operations across departments. You will manage procurement, purchasing coordination, supplier management, and inventory control with a focus on cost management and efficiency.

The role collaborates with Finance, Academic, Facilities and other teams to fulfill purchasing requirements, ensure compliance with policies, and prepare cost reports for management.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
• 3–5 years or more of purchasing/procurement and inventory experience.
• Strong supplier sourcing, negotiation and cost management skills.
• Good understanding of purchasing processes and inventory control.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with different departments and suppliers.
• Experience in a school, education, hospitality, facilities or multi-department environment is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end purchasing process including sourcing, quotations, POs, delivery and documentation.
• Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, maintain supplier relationships.
• Monitor purchasing activities, deliveries and supplier performance for timely fulfilment.
• Manage inventory levels, stock movements, replenishment and reconciliation.
• Analyse purchasing and inventory data to identify cost savings and process improvements.
• Coordinate procurement with Finance, Facilities, Academic, Boarding, IT, Events and other departments.
• Ensure compliance with policies, approval procedures and documentation requirements.
• Prepare purchasing, inventory and cost reports for management.
• Support procurement planning for school terms, events, camps and major activities.
