Job summary

Industrial Water Engineers (M) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a proactive Senior Procurement Executive to manage procurement activities and supplier relationships for engineering projects in the water and wastewater sector.

You will source equipment, negotiate terms and coordinate purchases to support project delivery. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s in Engineering or Science with 3–5 years of relevant experience, strong negotiation and project management skills, and proficiency in AutoCAD or

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science required; Master's degree a plus.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in engineering project execution, preferably in industrial water and wastewater treatment.
• Hands-on experience in site supervision, project coordination, installation and commissioning.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings, technical specifications and project execution processes.

Responsibilities

• Source and obtain competitive quotations for project-related equipment, spare parts and materials.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve cost efficiency.
• Evaluate and compare quotations from 2–3 suppliers based on pricing, quality, technical suitability and lead time.
• Understand basic engineering concepts, technical specifications and measurements to assess purchasing requirements.
• Research and evaluate new or alternative products, materials and suppliers suitable for water and wastewater treatment systems.
• Manage supplier coordination after PO issuance, including resolving defects, returns, pricing discrepancies and claims.
• Monitor delivery schedules and ensure materials and equipment are delivered on time and in accordance with PO requirements.
• Coordinate closely with the Process Department to monitor and follow up on outstanding Purchase Orders.
• Maintain updated records of material and equipment pricing for procurement reference and cost comparison.
• Prepare monthly procurement reports covering purchasing costs, delivery status, warranty matters and supplier performance.
• Maintain accurate and complete procurement documentation in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements, internal procedures and project specifications, and support ISO audits when required.

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Procurement Executive to manage procurement activities, supplier relationships and purchasing coordination to support our engineering projects and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Source and obtain competitive quotations for project-related equipment, spare parts and materials.

Negotiate pricing, payment terms and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve cost efficiency.

Evaluate and compare quotations from 2–3 suppliers based on pricing, quality, technical suitability and lead time.

Understand basic engineering concepts, technical specifications and measurements to assess purchasing requirements.

Research and evaluate new or alternative products, materials and suppliers suitable for water and wastewater treatment systems.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science. A Master's Degree is an added advantage.

Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in engineering project execution, preferably in industrial water and wastewater treatment (WWTP/WTP).

Hands‑on experience in site supervision, project coordination, installation and commissioning.

Good understanding of engineering drawings, technical specifications and project execution processes.

Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of SolidWorks is an added advantage.

Strong project management, analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.

Ability to lead project activities independently, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive, responsible and results‑oriented attitude.

Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Chinese language proficiency is an added advantage, particularly when communicating with clients and stakeholders from China.

Willing to travel locally and internationally for project installation and commissioning, depending on project requirements.

Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015, quality management practices, project documentation control and occupational safety and health (OSH) requirements is an added advantage.

Immediate availability is preferred.
