Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a senior technical leader to shape post-silicon performance characterization for Data Center products across single-node to rack-scale deployments.

You will set direction for complex investigations, connect silicon behavior to system outcomes, and drive improvements across hardware, firmware, and workloads. This role is an individual contributor with broad influence; you will mentor engineers, partner across sites, and translate

Qualifications

• Experience leading cross-functional engineering programs across organizations and time zones.
• Strong programming skills in Python; experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch is advantageous.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and shell scripting with performance tooling and automation.
• Deep understanding of computer architecture, GPU systems, and performance analysis.
• Knowledge of HPC and ML workloads, including scaling, communications, and bottlenecks.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead performance-characterization strategies for AMD Data Center products across HPC and ML workloads.
• Establish scalable workload-execution and performance-data-collection frameworks.
• Influence power, thermal and performance definitions by linking architecture goals to measured behavior.
• Lead test plans for characterization and optimization across diverse usage scenarios.
• Drive performance across scale-up and scale-out configurations, including multi-GPU scaling and interconnect bandwidth.
• Analyze interactions among power-management features, thermal behavior, and performance.
• Mentor engineers and communicate findings to stakeholders; drive root-cause investigations to resolution.
