Job summary

SICPA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Platform Foundations team in Cyberjaya. You will lead the evolution of an internal digital platform, act as technical product owner, and mentor engineers while delivering scalable backend services in Java and Kotlin.

Responsibilities include designing robust APIs, coordinating with stakeholders, and driving best practices across the team. The role requires strong Linux skills, cloud containers, and a passion for innovative tech.

Qualifications

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience as software engineer with in-depth knowledge of Java (or Kotlin).
• Write well-tested and efficient code that is easy to understand and maintain.
• Experience driving software teams or leading software projects.
• Familiar with Linux environment, shell scripting and software packaging.
• Hands-on with technologies like Spring Boot, gRPC, OpenAPI, Docker, OpenShift or Kubernetes, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MinIO, Keycloak/OpenID Connect, Jenkins, Spark, Hadoop, TypeScript, Angular.
• Great team player, multi-cultural environment, and able to work independently.
• Fluent in English (French a plus).

Responsibilities

• Lead evolution of internal digital platform ensuring reliability, completeness and great user experience.
• Act as platform technical product owner and drive its roadmap with stakeholders.
• Design, build and maintain backend services and libraries in Java and Kotlin.
• Coach junior engineers and support teams in their tasks.
• Tackle technical challenges across infrastructure, CI/CD, frontend and subsystem interactions.
• Explore and introduce new technologies with Product Owners.
• Support the scrum master and promote high-quality outputs.
• Facilitate platform adoption and manage external suppliers.
• Apply software engineering best practices (testing, documentation, code review).
