Job summary

Acteon Group is seeking a Senior Pipeline Engineer in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with 10+ years in offshore or marine engineering. The role covers in-office, yard-based and offshore tasks across design, procurement, installation management and integrity life extension of subsea systems.

You will collaborate with clients, project managers and engineers to deliver technical calculations and engineering deliverables, with travel to onshore yards and offshore sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture, Civil, Mechanical or equivalent.
• 10+ years offshore/marine engineering experience.
• Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to plan, organize and manage work in project/onshore/offshore environments.
• Experience in multidisciplinary engineering teams and offshore exposure is a plus.
• Proficiency with Orcaflex, Abaqus, DNV suite, AutoPipe, Sage Profiles and MS Office.

We are sourcing a Senior Pipeline Engineer on a full time, permanent basis, the Senior Pipeline Engineer is responsible for performing in-office and offshore engineering activities to meet project and regulatory requirements. The role supports the design, procurement, and installation management as well as integrity management and life extension of subsea rigid and flexible pipeline systems. Senior Engineers are expected to work closely and collaboratively with clients, project managers, and other engineers to provide technical expertise, and engineering calculations to achieve project objectives. This position is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with project-based travel to onshore yard and offshore.

Duties & Main Responsibilities

Technical:

• Execution and management of complex and challenging pipeline engineering projects to meet project and regulatory requirements
• Perform related in-office, yard based and offshore tasks
• Develop and review engineering deliverables (software models, calculations, result spreadsheets, reports, presentations) and project documentation
• Provide technical guidance and support to the project team, including engineers, contractors, and suppliers.
• Develop engineering solutions which meet technical specifications and industry standards.
• Support resolution of technical challenges encountered during project execution.
• Preparation of technical and commercial proposals for new project work.

Leadership & Interface:

• Provide oversight, direction, software training, and mentoring to Engineer level employees conducting basic pipeline design and analysis projects.
• Lead client liaison on assigned projects including technical presentations, meetings, and project management (contract value dependent).
• Technical management of contractors and suppliers

Health, Safety, and Environment:

• Ensure compliance with 2H and client Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations throughout the project lifecycle.

Required

• Bachelor or master's degrees in Ocean Engineering, Naval Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
• 10+ years of relevant experience in offshore or marine engineering
• Proficiency in English, with strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to plan, organize, and manage work effectively in a project and onshore yard/offshore environment
• Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Experience working offshore a plus
• Proficient in one or more offshore software including Orcaflex, Abaqus, DNV suite of pipeline software, Autopipe, Sage Profiles, as well as MS Office Suite
• Ability to contribute technical input to proposal development and bid activities
• Highly motivated with a strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) practices and Quality Assurance.
• Excellent organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with vendors, suppliers, and clients.
• Self-motivated, able to work under pressure, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
