Job summary

Ofnir Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a Pipeline Engineer in the Project Engineering department. The role covers detailed offshore pipeline design, onshore/offshore analysis, and coordination with installation teams, with desktop work and offshore site visits as required.

The candidate will have 5+ years in pipeline design, a mechanical engineering background, and familiarity with pipeline design packages and soil analysis to support safe, cost-effective offshore installations.

Qualifications

• Graduate Engineer Mechanical with offshore installation specialization.
• Minimum 5 years of pipeline design experience.
• Exposure to soil survey and soil analysis related to pipeline design.
• Knowledge of AutoPIPE or Offpipe preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed pipeline designs including mechanical, stability, anodes, and tie-ins.
• Prepare construction and installation specifications for offshore pipelines.
• Collaborate with project managers and lead design engineers to optimize designs.
• Create 3D models of pipeline installations as required.
• Ensure compliance with HSE and QMS requirements.

Language: English

Computer Skill: General as for the work requirement and exposure to various pipeline design packages. Knowledge of Auto Pipe/ Offpipe preferred

Additional Qualification: Exposure to soil survey, soil analysis and its interpretation as relevant to pipeline design.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop detail design of pipeline including pipeline mechanical design, on bottom stability, anodes, pipeline alignment, crossings, tie-in etc. as applicable for any offshore pipeline installation.
• Develop detailed design specifications for construction and installation of offshore pipelines.
• Actively participate in project team for design engineering support for upstream and downstream facilities.
• Prepare specifications, construction, and installation packages for offshore pipelines to include pipeline design, route selection, and installation of welded steel pipe etc.
• Working alongside the project managers, Lead Design Engineers for optimizing designs and facilities to provide reliable and cost-effective pipeline design.
• Create three-dimensional virtual models (as required) of the pipeline installations including topographic and other criteria to allow the company to predict any potential problem areas during the pipe laying procedures.
• Carry out multi- tasking activities as per job needs.
• To look after HSE requirements.
• Comply to QMS requirements.
