Job summary

Columbia Asia Hospital - Puchong is seeking a Senior Pharmacy Assistant to support the Pharmacy Manager in daily operations and ensure adherence to good pharmacy practices within the hospital.

You will supervise Pharmacy Assistants, manage records, assist in inventory control, and contribute to quality assurance and staff development. The role requires leadership, strong communication and fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Pharmacy or MOH certificate/licence is required.
• At least 5 years of experience in a hospital setting.
• Good leadership, negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills with sound judgment.
• Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken).
• Knowledge of drug names and pharmacy mathematics.

Responsibilities

• Senior Pharmacy Assistant to maintain all duties and responsibilities of a Pharmacy Assistant.
• Ensure records and documentation are in order and updated.
• Assist in collecting statistics and data.
• Guide and supervise Pharmacy Assistants on daily processes to maintain a smooth workflow.
• Orientate and train newly qualified staff / newly joined staff.
• Provide teaching to staff for continuous staff development and performance improvement.
• Ensure internal and external quality controls are within acceptable limits and assist in trouble-shooting.
• Attend meetings when required.
• Ensure care of equipment and report any malfunction to bio-medical department/ vendors.
• Assist in inventory control.
• Facilitate the flow of communication within the pharmacy department and to medical professionals inside and outside the hospital.
• Upgrade knowledge, skills and follow the development in the pharmacy services.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Job description

Assist Pharmacy Manager with the operation and management of the pharmacy.

Assist Pharmacy Manager to ensure all staff perform work processes with good pharmacy practices and comply with the hospital quality assurance and quality control procedures.

Assist Pharmacy Manager in supervising and evaluating pharmacy staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Education Requirements

Diploma in Pharmacy or certificate/ license issued by the Ministry of Health.

At least 5 years of experience in hospital setting.

Possess good leadership, negotiation, communication and interpersonal relationship skills and good judgment.

Have good command in both English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken)

Require knowledge of drug names and pharmacy mathematics.

Special Demands:

Had served Columbia Asia Hospital for more than 2 years.

Recommended by Pharmacy Manager.

Achieve appraisal score ≥ 70% for past 2 years.
