Job summary

Thundersoft in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Senior PCIe Electrical Validation Engineer to validate PCIe Gen5/Gen6, characterize signals, and debug platform-level issues across next-generation high-speed interfaces in the lab.

You will set up high-bandwidth instruments, bring up platforms, analyze TX/RX performance, and collaborate with hardware, firmware, BIOS, silicon teams. The role also involves scripting in Python, Bash, Perl, or PowerShell to automate tests.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on PCIe/high-speed interface validation experience.
• Strong PCIe Gen5 experience; Gen6 exposure desirable.
• Hands-on use of high-bandwidth oscilloscopes and BERT systems.
• Solid knowledge of PCIe TX/RX, Refclk, LTSSM, link training, equalization, BER, jitter.
• Experience with platform bring-up, debugging, and root-cause analysis of failures.
• Familiarity with PCI-SIG specs and CEM compliance.
• Basic scripting in Python, Bash, Perl, or PowerShell for automation.
• Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Perform PCIe Gen5/Gen6 validation and characterization.
• Set up and operate scopes, BERTs, and fixtures for TX/RX testing.
• Bring up PCIe platforms and debug training, enumeration, link issues.
• Analyze TX/RX performance, Refclk, equalization, BER, jitter, eye diagrams.
• Conduct signal integrity root-cause investigations for failures.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, BIOS, silicon validation, and platform engineering teams.
• Develop scripts to automate validation and data analysis.
• Support retimer and switch validation and post-silicon validation where applicable.
