Job summary

GoKardz Technologies in Malaysia seeks an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to manage Oracle EBS and Oracle SQL databases, patch systems, tune performance, and ensure SLAs are met. The role requires collaboration with developers and the infrastructure team, plus disaster recovery readiness and regular status updates.

The candidate should have 3–5 years of experience (6–10 preferred), with Oracle EBS 12c/19c, Oracle SQL, and shell scripting.

Qualifications

• Graduate with experience in Oracle EBS and Oracle SQL.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience; preferably 6–10 years or more.
• Experience with Oracle EBS Database 12c, 19c and above.
• Experience with Oracle SQL or equivalent.
• Experience with shell scripting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure application‑related critical patches and database security patches are up to date.
• Maintain database performance, plan and execute housekeeping activities to prevent disruptions.
• Monitor database performance during month‑end batch execution to ensure SLAs are met.
• Advise developers on long‑running jobs and provide execution plan or tuning recommendations.
• Address database‑related issues that impact business users, tracking issue, resolution, and prevention steps.
• Collaborate with the Infrastructure team to manage vulnerability findings reported by Security.
• Assist during disaster recovery activities for the supported application.
• Provide timely updates on database status and incidents.
• Support Oracle Application Database and any new application database acquisitions.
• Analyze and recommend system enhancements or integrations related to performance, database, and application.
• Ensure project deliverables to users are met within the stipulated timeline.
• Assist in preparing documents for users during budget planning and budget drawdown.
• Maintain peak database performance from an application perspective, ensuring SLAs for business users.
• Conduct capacity planning and monitor performance to keep the database efficient.
• Communicate regularly with technical, application, and operational staff to ensure optimal database operation.
• Support disaster recovery simulations and actual recovery scenarios.
• Share information with supervisors and team members promptly via email or discussion.
• Encourage teamwork and coach junior members to improve productivity.
• Deliver quality work with minimal application bugs across peak periods.
• Lead operational or tactical planning for small to mid‑size teams to address complex problems.

Education and Experience

• Graduate with experience in Oracle Enterprise Business Suite, Oracle SQL.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience; preferably 6–10 years or more.
• Experience with Oracle EBS Database 12c, 19c and above.
• Experience with Oracle SQL or equivalent.
• Experience with shell scripting.
