Job summary

Career Wise is seeking a Senior Development Engineer in Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia. The role involves developing and optimizing optical systems for industrial applications, with responsibilities in product assembly, testing, and technical troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate should have a degree in Optics Engineering or a related field, strong skills in optical design, and at least 4 years of relevant experience. Contributions to project management and mentoring junior engineers are also expected.

Job Description

• Responsible for developing, designing, analyzing and optimizing product vision systems and optics for industrial imaging and automated inspection
• Responsible for optical product assembly and testing and buyoff
• Implement product and process improvement
• Perform proper documentation related to optical module
• Lead root cause analysis and technical troubleshooting for complex issues in RD stage and mass production stage
• Undertake other duties and responsibilities, which may be assigned by the Company from time to time with on time full closure
• Coordinate design phases, transfer and project scheduling
• Responsible for new optical module design independently and review junior engineer's design
• Responsible for evaluation and generate analysis report independently and review junior engineer's report
• Master on machine operation and working principal
• Translate customer's requirement into design specification, evaluate design feasibility and provide technical expertise to exceed customer expectations
• Guide & coach development engineers and ensure knowledge sharing

Job Requirements

• Degree or above in Optics engineering or related
• Strong in optical path design, lens material selection and assembly process
