Job summary

Carrier Global Corporation is seeking an HVAC technician to maintain, service, troubleshoot, and repair Carrier equipment in the workshop and on sites across Malaysia and Asia. You will supervise subcontractors, perform testing and commissioning, and ensure accurate records and inventory while complying with PPE and safety standards.

The role requires lifting up to 20 kg, independence, and the ability to work across diverse environments with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in servicing, troubleshooting, repair and cleaning HVAC equipment and related products.
• Nitec or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Training or experience in EHS & Risk Assessment is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service, troubleshoot, repair and clean Carrier HVAC equipment in workshop and sites across Malaysia and Asia.
• Supervise subcontractors for hose connections and electrical terminations at project sites.
• Test and commission HVAC equipment for various projects across Singapore.
• Identify spare parts and manage inventory accuracy.
• Ensure PPE is worn and safety standards are followed.
• Standby for emergency calls and breakdowns; lift up to 20 kg when needed.

Job description

Role Responsibilities:

• Maintain, service, troubleshooting, repair and clean Carrier owned HVAC equipment and related products in the workshop and various sites throughout Malaysia and across Asia when required. This includes air-cooled and water-cooled systems from 10 RT to 600 RT; various sizes of air conditioners, pumps, air handlers, spot coolers.
• Supervision of subcontractors for hose connection and electrical termination works at project sites.
• In charge of testing and commissioning of HVAC equipment for various projects across Singapore.
• Able to repair pump end for small and large pumps systems. Knowledge in both electrical and mechanical components.
• Standby for emergency call up or breakdown of equipment.
• Ensure that all equipment are in good and presentable condition.
• Maintain accurate records for delivery orders and service reports.
• Maintain proper inventory counts for all equipment and accessories.
• Use power tools, hand tools, and other mechanical equipment.
• Identify the spare parts required, requesting and receiving of spares.
• Ensure accuracy of fleet inventory within warehouse
• Communicate in a professional manner with co-employees, subcontractors, and customers.
• Perform other duties as needed, including general maintenance, cleaning, lifting, organizing, and general inventory counts.
• Able to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to lift and manipulate objects of up to 20kg occasionally.
• Ensure all PPE is worn appropriately as work is performed in a variety of environmental conditions with exposure to outdoor temperature variations, noise, vibrations, gas or fumes, grease, cleaning solvents, degreasing agents, machinery and its moving parts, odors, and dust particles.

Minimum Requirements:

• Nitec, Diploma or Equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic Engineering Considered
• HVAC technical certification or HVAC associate degree preferred.
• Proficiency in servicing, troubleshooting, repair and cleaning HVAC equipment and related products.
• SIC for Construction, Shipyard, Process Plant an advantage.
• Training or experience in EHS & Risk Assessment an advantage.
• Possess a valid class 3 driver's license
