Job summary

Salt is partnering with a leading regional technology organisation to appoint a Senior Operations Specialist focused on reducing operational workload within the engineering leadership function. The role is hands-on, delivery-oriented and involves analyzing processes, building automation solutions and delivering measurable improvements.

You will work within the Engineering Leadership team to baseline workload, design scalable workflows, and partner with senior stakeholders to drive workforce

Qualifications

• Strong Business Analysis fundamentals including process mapping and data-driven analysis.

Responsibilities

• Establish a baseline of operational workload across the engineering leadership function and develop measurable methods for tracking improvements.
• Analyse existing processes, identify inefficiencies and prioritise opportunities based on business impact, effort and scalability.
• Design, build and implement process automation solutions, taking ownership from discovery and requirements gathering through to production delivery.
• Develop dashboards, reporting and operational insights that make workload, capacity and progress measurable and transparent.
• Support leadership with workforce and capacity planning, including headcount forecasting, recruitment planning, resource allocation and workforce sizing.
• Partner with senior Engineering and business stakeholders to simplify existing workflows and introduce scalable operating practices.
• Establish documentation, frameworks and standards that enable operational improvements to continue beyond the initial engagement.
• Where appropriate, leverage AI-assisted development, agentic coding and automation tools to rapidly prototype and deploy practical solutions.

We are partnering with a leading regional technology organisation to appoint a Senior Operations Specialist into a newly created role focused on improving operational efficiency across its engineering leadership function.

Embedded directly within the Engineering Leadership team, you will identify where operational overhead is consuming leadership capacity, establish measurable baselines, and design practical solutions to reduce it.

This is not a traditional Business Analyst or reporting-focused position. The role is deliberately hands-on and delivery-oriented: you will analyse existing processes, identify opportunities for improvement, introduce scalable ways of working, and where appropriate, build and deploy automation solutions yourself.

The initial six-month mandate is clear: identify, measure and materially reduce the operational workload currently sitting with engineering leaders.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish a clear baseline of operational workload across the engineering leadership function and develop measurable methods for tracking improvements.

What You’ll Bring

Highly Desirable

• Experience using agentic coding, AI-assisted development or low-code/no-code automation tools to build and deploy solutions independently.
• Workforce management or operational planning experience covering capacity sizing, forecasting, headcount or resource planning.
• Previous experience in an embedded or forward-deployed operations role within a technology, digital or platform organisation.
• Familiarity with workforce capacity models and resource-sizing methodologies.
• Experience working with geographically distributed teams across multiple markets and time zones.

What Success Looks Like

Within your first 90 days, you will have established a measurable baseline of operational workload, identified and prioritised the highest-impact opportunities, and begun deploying your first process improvements or automation solutions.

Over the initial six-month engagement, your success will be measured by your ability to materially reduce operational overhead for engineering leaders while establishing scalable, sustainable ways of working.
