Job summary

Brady Corporation Asia Pte Ltd is seeking a skilled Sourcing & Procurement professional in Malaysia to drive NPI supplier engagement, strategic sourcing, and supplier management. You will coordinate with R&D, engineering, and quality teams to ensure material availability and timely delivery for prototypes and ramp builds.

The role focuses on RFQ/RFP execution, cost improvement, and contract negotiation, with emphasis on maintaining supplier performance and risk mitigation across global sourcing

Responsibilities

• Lead early supplier engagement in NPI to ensure manufacturability and capacity readiness.
• Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers globally while adhering to quality systems.
• Manage cost, pricing, and contract terms to meet target costs; conduct should-cost analyses.
• Track critical parts, manage supply risks, and ensure material readiness for prototypes and ramp builds.
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, quality, planning, and program management to align material flow.
• Set up ERP master data (lead times, pricing, MOQ), issue POs, monitor delivery performance.
• Hand over mature components to sustaining procurement teams.
• Lead RFQ/RFP processes, evaluate bids, and benchmark prices.
• Monitor supplier performance (OTD, quality) and mitigate cost increases.
• Negotiate contracts and ensure supply continuity (NDA/MSA).

Job description

• Responsible for the NPI and sourcing process which includes supplier selection, supplier management. Manages, supports and coordinates the whole sourcing process for the company.

Key Responsibilities In NPI

• Early Supplier Engagement: Involve suppliers early in the design and development phase to ensure technical alignment, manufacturability, and capacity readiness.
• Supplier Selection & Qualification: Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers globally while adhering to quality management systems and preferred supplier lists.
• Cost & Pricing Management: Lead cost improvement activities, conduct should-cost analysis, and negotiate competitive pricing, contracts, and commercial terms to meet target costs.
• Material Readiness & Risk Management: Track critical and long-lead parts, manage supply chain risks, and ensure material availability for prototype, pilot, and ramp builds.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with R&D, engineering, quality, planning, and program management teams to align material flow with project timelines.
• Procurement Execution: Set up ERP master data (lead times, pricing, MOQ), issue purchase orders, and monitor supplier delivery performance. [1]
• Handover to Sustaining: Manage the structured transition of mature components and suppliers over to the mainstream or sustaining procurement team.

Key Responsibilities in Sourcing & Commodity

• Strategic Sourcing & RFQ Execution: Lead Request for Quotations (RFQs) and Request for Proposals (RFPs), collect bids, and evaluate commercial responses.
• Cost & Market Analysis: Conduct Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) evaluations, price benchmarking, and spend analysis to drive savings.
• Supplier Management: Identify, onboard, and audit suppliers while monitoring performance metrics like on-time delivery (OTD) and quality.
• Supply Management: Support Shipment Revenue (eg, expedite), mitigate/negotiate cost increases, and resolve all supply issues
• ISO & Compliance Management: Support all initiatives and mitigate related issues. Ensure factory complies with ISO & material compliance certifications.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, finance, and supply chain teams to align product roadmaps and production schedules.
• Risk & Contract Management: Negotiate business contracts, mitigate supply chain volatility, and ensure supply continuity. (NDA/MSA)

Requisite Criteria

• Education: Degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience: Prior experience in strategic sourcing, global procurement, or working within an NPI and manufacturing environment

• Technical Skills: Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (such as SAP), data analytics tools, contract negotiation, and market trend analysis.
