Job summary

Bosch Malaysia seeks an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to plan and optimize assembly processes, collaborating with project teams to minimize product cost through design and process improvements.

You will define equipment specifications, plan and release manufacturing cells, and contribute to PFMEA and Control Plan activities, while driving targets for OEE and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in related field.
• At least 2 years in assembly process, line setup, PFMEA & Control Plan creation.

Responsibilities

• Plan assembly processes for manufacturing flow with focus on efficiency.
• Support RFQ calculations and investment estimates for standard assembly modules.
• Define equipment specs and plan, purchase, set up and release manufacturing cells.
• Evaluate equipment and process performance across project stages.
• Prepare technical/performance reports by collecting and summarizing data.
• Establish process specifications and maintenance strategies for line release.
• Conduct problem solving in assembly processes and develop troubleshooting guides.
• Participate in system CIP on value disposition (S-Q-C-D).
• Provide countermeasures with corrective and preventive actions.
• Study and improve capacity and capability in assembly per customer demand.
• Strive for higher OEE, FPY, MTTR, MTBF and emphasize teamwork in VSO.
• All other duties assigned by supervisor.

Job Description

• Planning of assembly processes flow considering manufacturing efficiency. Collaborate with project team to seek and strive for minimizing product cost through design and process optimization.

• Support in the RFQ calculation; calculate and provide investment needed for standard assembly process modules.

• Define equipment specification in accordance to product specification. Plan, purchase (with supervision), setup and release manufacturing cells on time, at budget and with desired requirement.

• Involve in each project stages to evaluate equipment and process performance.

• Formulate technical and/or performance reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.

• Identify and establish process specifications, maintenance strategies and other manufacturing documents required for line release activity.

• Conduct problem solving methodology in assembly processes and equipment. In meantime also developing troubleshooting guide and training of technical know-how to technician.

• Actively participate in system CIP on value disposition as in S-Q-C-D (Safety, Quality Cost & Delivery).

• Provide effective countermeasure in technical flaw encompassed with corrective and preventive action plan.

• Study, evaluate and improve the technical capacity and capability in assembly processes accorded to customer’s demand.

• Continuously strive for higher and sustainable OEE, FPY, MTTR, MTBF.

• Emphasize the intensity of teamwork culture in VSO (Value Stream Organization) moving towards operational excellence.

• Any other duties assigned by immediate superior from time to time

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Degree in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent

• Minimum 5 years working of experience in related field

• At least 2 years of practical experience in assembly process in term of Line setup, Process Planning, PFMEA and Control Plan creation

• Adequate knowledge in PFMEAs, Control Plan, Production Systems, and box-build assembly processes

• Ability to communicate effectively both in oral and written with all levels of employees

• Good decision-making strength, problems solving and result oriented
