Job summary

Respond.io is hiring a Mobile Developer to join our Frontend Team. You’ll work primarily in React Native and TypeScript, collaborating with backend, design and product teams to ship features that shape the mobile experience. You’ll own quality and performance, with opportunities to grow in a fast-paced startup.

You will join a hands-on, senior team delivering impactful features for a global user base, with emphasis on speed, reliability and clean code.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience with React Native, including the app lifecycle, handling user interactions, and integrating with APIs
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Javascript
• Experience with state management (Redux, Zustand, or Context API)
• Experience testing with Jest and React Native Testing Library
• Familiarity with native iOS or Android development (Xcode / Android Studio) is a plus for debugging and performance tuning
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deploying to the App Store or Play Store is a plus
• Strong written and spoken English, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly
• A nimble, collaborative team player who thrives in a fast‑paced startup environment

Responsibilities

• Build & Ship Features: Design and build new features in React Native and TypeScript, working closely with backend developers, designers, and product managers from idea through release.
• Monitor & Optimize: Track how the live app performs in the real world — speed, stability, responsiveness — and act on what you find.
• Fix & Prevent Bugs: Take ownership of bug identification and resolution, and spot patterns that help prevent repeat issues.
• Raise the Bar on Code Quality: Write clean, well‑documented, testable code, contribute to code reviews, and help strengthen our unit testing and CI/CD practices.
• Improve How We Work: Research new tools and patterns, and bring them back to the team to make how we build software better over time.
