Job summary

SBM Offshore is seeking a Senior Engineer in Malaysia to design and engineer solutions with high safety and reliability standards, contributing to project objectives and long-term success.

The role involves leading engineers on assigned scopes, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring compliance with international codes and SBM requirements. Strong background in oil & gas engineering and package leadership is expected.

Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years in Oil & Gas Industry
• Experience with engineering design and calculation tools
• Knowledge of international codes and standards

Responsibilities

• Select methods and procedures for design within specifications and in compliance with codes and SBM standards
• Plan and complete activities and deliverables within time and budget; ensure system interfaces
• Ensure Scope of WorkDeliverables align with contractual and SBM requirements
• Incorporate lessons learnt and assess change impact across project boundaries
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors and third parties per contractual requirements
• May be assigned as Package Engineer with responsibility for design, procurement and manufacture
• Lead engineers on assigned scope of work
• Possible role as Discipline Lead for an assigned scope of work

Purpose

• The Senior Engineer's purpose is to design and engineer solutions that achieve high standards of safety, reliability, and sustainability, thereby contributing to the projects and organization's strategic objectives and long-term success.

Responsibilities

• You are responsible for the selection of methods and procedures, performance of the work, and optimization of the design within the scope of the specifications, in compliance with international codes, company and industry standards and regulations.
• You are responsible for proactively planning and completing activities and deliverables within agreed time frame and budget, as well as for ensuring system interfaces.
• You ensure that your Scope of Work is delivered in accordance with both the contractual requirements and SBM’s internal requirements.
• You ensure applicable lessons learnt are used, understanding the change impact within and across project system boundaries.
• You coordinate with vendors, subcontractors and third parties, in accordance with contractual requirements and SBM’s internal requirements.
• You may be assigned as a Package Engineer with technical responsibility for the design, procurement and manufacture of the Package.
• You start leading engineers on assigned scope of work
• You may act as Discipline Lead for an assigned scope of work.
