Job summary

AECOM in Malaysia seeks a Principal Engineer, Mechanical (Fire Life Safety) to lead design, analysis and procurement for tunnel ventilation, fire strategies and smoke movement projects across rail, metro and road networks.

You will run 3D CFD and fire simulation workflows (FDS, PyroSim, IDA Tunnel), prepare calculations and drawings, mentor junior engineers and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver compliant, safe and efficient TVS solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and BEM registration.
• 10+ years in tunnel/rail ventilation and fire safety design.
• Proficiency with SES, IDA Tunnel, FDS/PyroSim.

Responsibilities

• Design and verify TVS for tunnels, buildings and transit systems with fire safety analysis.
• Prepare calculations, drawings and specifications for mechanical ventilation systems.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure design intent and compliance.
• Perform 3D CFD and fire-smoke simulations for various scenarios using FDS/PyroSim/IDA Tunnel.
