Job summary

AECOM, a global infrastructure leader, is seeking a Principal Engineer, Mechanical (Fire Life Safety) to lead TVS design, fire strategies, and smoke movement analyses for tunneling projects in Kuala Lumpur.

You will design, verify, and optimize ventilation systems, run 3D CFD simulations, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and BEM registration.
• At least 10 years of ventilation design, fire strategies, and smoke movement analysis for tunnels and buildings.
• Proficiency in SES, IDA Tunnel, FDS, PyroSim, and Pathfinder software.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and verify TVS for tunnels and buildings, including Fire Life Safety analysis.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, and specifications for ventilation systems.
• Collaborate with clients and respond to technical queries.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Develop simulations for air flow and smoke management scenarios.
• Ensure design accuracy with employer requirements and budgets.
