KTA Tenaga Sdn Bhd is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer in Malaysia with 5+ years of local consultancy experience. The role involves designing HVAC, firefighting, plumbing, hot water, gas, and BMS systems, with emphasis on calculations and client interactions.

The candidate should hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, be registered as a Graduate Engineer with BEM, and be prepared to engage with regulators, consultants, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in a local engineering consultancy.
• Proven experience designing mechanical systems for commercial, residential, healthcare, industrial and/or data center projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Registered as a Graduate Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems including Air Conditioning, Mechanical Ventilation, Fire Protection, Plumbing, Hot Water, NG/LPG, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Perform detailed calculations to justify and support design decisions.
• Represent the company in meetings with clients, consultants, contractors and regulatory authorities.
• Prepare tender documents and conduct tender evaluations.
• Review contractor submissions for compliance with design specifications and drawings; prepare progress payment certificates; assess variation works.
