Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical building services for Data Centers across Malaysia and the Asia region.

You will manage design tasks, coordinate with engineers, suppliers and clients, and support site supervision, commissioning, and bid proposals, with emphasis on HVAC systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering; PE registration is a plus.
• Minimum 10 years of mechanical services design experience for data centers.
• Knowledge of local building codes and international standards.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work independently.
• Experience with BIM and 3D modelling is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality standards and conformance with design plans across the project.
• Prepare technical reports and specifications for mechanical systems.
• Lead and collaborate with engineers, drafting, and design staff to deliver outputs.
• Lead project/site meetings with clients, PMs, and consultants.
• Coordinate technical issues with other disciplines.
• Build relationships with clients in a Doer/Seller role.
• Support site supervision and plant commissioning when required.
• Support proposals and bids as needed.
