Job summary

Surbana Jurong Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design and delivery of mechanical services for building projects. You will prepare conceptual to detailed designs, evaluate tenders and cost estimates, and review contractor submissions to ensure adherence to specifications.

The role requires a minimum of seven years in design and site installation across HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, lifts, and related systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a BEM recognized university.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in design and site installation of air-conditioning & mechanical ventilation, fire-fighting, plumbing, lifts, and building management systems.
• Experience in M&E consulting engineering company preferred.
• Willing to work outstation when required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual, preliminary and detailed design for mechanical services.
• Prepare tender documents, specifications and cost estimates.
• Review shop drawings and contractor submissions for compliance to specifications.
• Coordinate and lead team members to deliver tasks and manage project progress.
• Oversee testing & commissioning of mechanical services and participate in client/consultant meetings.

SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Job Description

• To prepare conceptual, preliminary and detailed design for Mechanical services.
• To prepare tender documents, specification and cost estimates.
• To perform tender evaluation and prepare tender evaluation reports.
• Review shop drawings and construction material submissions by contractors for compliance to specifications.
• To coordinate and lead other team members to deliver tasks as necessary.
• Manage projects progress and manage testing & commissioning of mechanical services.

• To attend client consultant, project site meetings and technical meetings.
• Carry out consultation with local authorities for submission approval.
• Perform contract administration for mechanical building services.
• Any ad-hoc duties assigned by immediate superior.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a BEM recognized University.
• A minimum 7 years of the relevant experience in design and site installation of air-conditioning & mechanical ventilation system, fire-fighting system, cold water plumbing & sanitary system, lift system, compressed air system, building management system, liquified petroleum gas system and etc.
• An active team player and team leader whenever required
• Knowledge in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM and Engineering Design software will be an added advantage.
• Experience in M&E consulting engineering company will be preferred.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Must be willing to work in outstation, whenever required
