Job summary

Flintex Consulting Pte Ltd is seeking a senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the development of automation equipment for connector manufacturing. You will design high-speed stitching and insertion systems, develop 3D models and drawings, and ensure manufacturability, safety and compliance with production requirements.

You will collaborate with Product Design, Process Engineering, Electrical Controls, Manufacturing and Quality teams to meet specifications, cost, and timeline objectives while

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of mechanical design or automation machine-development experience
• Experience in designing high-speed terminal stitching, gang insertion or connector assembly equipment is strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of machine-design principles
• Proficient with 3D CAD tools; familiarity with CAE tools is an advantage
• Experience in connector/electronics/semiconductor high-precision manufacturing desirable

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development of automation equipment, assembly machines, tooling and inspection systems for connector manufacturing
• Design reliable and cost-effective automation machines ensuring functionality, manufacturability and safety
• Develop high-speed terminal stitching and insertion equipment with terminal feeding and alignment controls
• Perform mechanical design activities including 3D modelling, drawings, tolerance analysis and design risk assessment
• Work with product design, process engineering, electrical controls, manufacturing, quality and suppliers to define specs and DFM requirements
• Lead machine development projects from concept to production handover, achieving cycle time, yield, capability and cost targets
