Job summary

Flintex Consulting Pte Ltd in Malaysia is seeking an Assembly Process Engineer to take full ownership of assigned assembly processes in Johor Bahru. You will ensure stability, capability and compliance across manufacturing operations and drive improvements with cost and design initiatives.

The role requires 3+ years of manufacturing experience, strong drawing interpretation skills, and proficiency with MFG/PRO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Tool & Die, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
• At least three years of relevant engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
• Familiar with manufacturing methods, assembly processes and production controls.
• Good knowledge of pneumatic equipment used in automated assembly processes.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of assigned assembly processes and ensure their stability, capability and compliance.
• Drive continuous process improvement, cost-reduction and design-improvement initiatives to achieve reliable and efficient manufacturing processes.
• Prepare and maintain product-structure and routing data in the MFG/PRO system.
• Conduct root-cause investigations into process abnormalities, production issues and customer complaints, and implement corrective actions.
• Train Assembly Technicians and Supervisors on assembly processes, operating requirements and process controls.
• Review tooling drawings and recommend changes arising from process or design improvements.
• Prepare, maintain and control process documentation, including Work Instructions and ISO-related records.
• Conduct machine buy-off activities and set up new assembly lines for production.
• Implement appropriate process-control measures for assembly operations.
• Initiate localisation of components and support Purchasing in vendor development.
• Coordinate product transfers from other manufacturing sites as part of cost-reduction or capacity programmes.
• Communicate process and design changes to affected departments and stakeholders.
• Maintain proper document control for assembly machines and related processes.
