Job summary

Flintex Consulting Pte Ltd in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead the development of assembly processes for semi-auto and fully automatic production lines in Senai, Johor.

You will design and optimize fixtures, coordinate fabrication, assembly, debug and test runs, and work with robot vendors (KUKA, UR, ABB, Yumi) to ensure quality, cost control, and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline.
• Minimum 5–7 years of process development experience with strong engineering principles.
• Proficient in mechanical design and solid mechanics applied to product design.
• Knowledge in process development and integration with robots (KUKA, UR, ABB & Yumi).
• Project management abilities demonstrated in past roles.
• Knowledge in vision inspection machines and systems (Keyence, PPT and Cognex).

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize assembly processes for semi-automatic, fully automatic machines or multi-purpose fixtures with quality and cost considerations.
• Plan, execute and complete assembly processes per timing and quality requirements.
• Assist or lead design, fabrication, assembly, debug and test runs of equipment.
• Define automation specifications, source vendors, coordinate projects, test and qualify machines using SPC.
• Coordinate with machine vendors for new machines and ensure deadlines.
• Establish process parameters for new operations/machines and update specifications before release to manufacturing.
• Ensure production output, quality and yield during transfer to production.
• Investigate root causes and implement corrective actions for manufacturing quality issues.

• Conceptualize the assembly process either in semi-auto, fully automatic machines or multi-purpose fixtures for new products with both quality and cost considerations.
• Plan, execute and complete assembly process per the established timing and quality requirements.
• Assist or wholly responsible for design, coordinating fabrication, assembly, debug and test run the equipment.
• Spell out specifications and requirements for automation processes, source for vendors to quote, coordinate the projects, test run and qualify the machine using SPC tools and complete the final setup.
• Coordinate with machine vendors for all new machines. Assist the vendors and ensure completion date is met.
• Establish process parameters for all new assembly operations/machines and update all process specifications or issues before release to manufacturing.
• Responsible for production output, quality & yield during the transfer phase to production.
• Responsible to assist with investigation, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for manufacturing quality issues.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor / Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing or other relevant discipline
• Minimum 5-7 years of process development experience with excellent grasp of Engineering and Design principles.
• Proficient with Mechanical Design, Solid Mechanics theory and its application to product design
• Knowledge in process development and integration with robots (KUKA, UR, ABB & Yumi robots).
• Possess Project management abilities
• Knowledge in vision inspection machine and systems (Keyence, PPT and Cognex)
