Job summary

KES International Sdn Bhd in Johor is seeking a seasoned Materials Manager to lead Purchasing, Material Planning, Store, Shipping and Logistics. You will translate sales orders and production plans into executable material plans while ensuring BOM accuracy and timely purchase commitments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Diploma in SCM or related field; strong operations exposure.
• Minimum 8 years in materials/procurement in manufacturing, with 3+ years in leadership.
• Knowledge of MRP, ERP, supplier management, inventory control, Incoterms and ISO/QMS.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, cost control, data analysis and cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Materials Department covering Purchasing, Material Planning, Store, Shipping and Logistics.
• Translate confirmed sales orders, project priorities and production plans into executable material plans.
• Ensure BOM, part number, revision, quantity and required-date accuracy before purchase commitment.
• Ensure purchases, receipts and intercompany transactions are processed under the correct legal entity.
• Review and control purchase requisitions, purchase orders and material commitments under the approved workflow.
• Lead sourcing, RFQ, quotation comparison, supplier evaluation and supplier-selection activities.
• Negotiate price, lead time, MOQ, payment terms, delivery, quality and other commercial conditions.
• Monitor shortages, long-lead, end-of-life, obsolete and sole-source items and lead recovery actions.
• Manage supplier performance for quality, cost, delivery, responsiveness, capacity and corrective action.
• Control excess, slow-moving, obsolete, damaged, expired and non-usable inventory and disposition plans.
