Agilent Technologies LDA Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Senior Materials Engineer to apply materials science expertise across R&D, procurement and manufacturing engineering for materials used in Agilent products.

Plans, evaluates and recommends technical, quality and cost specifications to meet design and business growth objectives. This is a senior role requiring creativity and initiative; travel of up to 25% may be required and collaboration with suppliers and internal teams is essential to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical & Electronics, Materials Engineering Sciences or equivalent.
• At least 5 years relevant experience to manufacturing and supplier engineering communication role.
• Experience with PCA/PCB Assembly, OEM or catalogue components, instrument or measurement products is a plus.
• Requires in-depth knowledge and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Leads in sourcing for substitute/alternative materials to ensure assurance of supply, cost savings and quality.
• Partners with R&D and Product Engineering to improve products quality and supplier processes.
• Identifies and evaluates alternative materials or suppliers to maintain quality and pricing.
• Drive supplier quality improvement program for Assurance Of Supply and non-conformance material reduction.
• Analyzes inspection data and provides feedback to suppliers on quality issues.
• Assists manufacturing in evaluating material-related issues and disposition of non-conformances.
• Accountable for sourcing, prototyping and piece-part qualification within project timelines.
• Determine cost-effective ways or technologies to support manufacturing demand.
• Improve products, processes and components; may assist R&D on redesign for cost/objectives.
• Provide technical support for NPI and Product Transfer.
• Participates in new product introduction, influencing design for manufacturability and transition to production.
