Job summary

Agilent Technologies in Bayan Lepas, Malaysia, is seeking a Mechatronics/ Electronics & Electrical Engineer with 3–5 years of experience to improve supplier parts, evaluate alternatives, and support NPI & product transfer. The role involves collaboration across manufacturing to resolve material issues and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

You will lead material sourcing for cost savings while maintaining supply assurance and quality, with a full-time, day-shift schedule and 25%

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for specification interpretation and documentation adequacy.
• Disposition of non-conforming materials and training on the usage of inspection measuring equipment.
• Identify and plan for inspection and test requirements needed for adequate assessment of the quality of incoming parts.
• Analyze inspection, evaluation, and test data, providing feedback on quality performance and following up on quality issues with suppliers.
• Actively participate in quality improvement programs with suppliers.
• Lead sourcing for substitute/alternative materials to achieve cost savings while ensuring supply assurance and/or improving part quality.
• Assist manufacturing in evaluating material-related issues to ensure correct disposition of non-conformance materials.

Job description

This is a Mechatronics Engineer / Electronics & Electrical Engineer role that requires a high level of creativity, originality, and initiative. The engineer works independently as needed, improving the quality of suppliers’ parts within their responsibility. They identify and evaluate alternative materials or suppliers to maintain competitive quality, supply assurance, and pricing. The engineer provides technical support for NPI (New Product Introduction) & Product Transfer, assists manufacturing in resolving material‑related issues, and offers technical guidance to less experienced engineers.

Responsibilities
