Job summary

Liberty General Insurance Berhad in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Underwriter to assess risks in line with underwriting guides, negotiate terms, and prepare quotations for a diverse marine portfolio. You will monitor risk acceptance rules and contribute to analytics-driven improvements.

The role requires a degree in Accounting/Actuarial/Finance or related field, 4-5 years of underwriting experience (marine preferred), and excellent written and spoken English.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting/Actuarial/Finance or related field.
• Minimum of 4-5 years of experience as an Underwriter.
• Experience/exposure in Marine Underwriting preferred.
• Excellent written and communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Assessment of risks in accordance to Underwriting guides to determine acceptability of risks.
• Negotiate and define the specific terms of insurance policies.
• Prepare Quotations.
• Monitor the portfolio and metrics related to UW processes and risk acceptance rules in accordance with data analytics.
• Update the underwriting policies and procedures.
• Execution of System implementations and UAT testing.
• Assist in Trainings and building technical knowledge within the Organization.
