Job summary

Siemens in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Senior Logistics Project Specialist to lead cross-functional logistics interfaces, assess risks, and ensure regulatory compliance across international supply chains.

You will manage tenders, oversee transport and warehousing, and develop end-to-end logistics strategies for timely and cost-effective project delivery, coordinating with diverse teams and stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Education: University degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Project Logistics Experience: Extensive professional experience managing logistics activities within large-scale infrastructure, transportation, industrial, or engineering project environments.
• Specialized Industry Exposure: Experience supporting delivery of railway, mobility, or other complex, multi-site international project ecosystems.
• Technical & Regulatory Expertise: Knowledge of international freight forwarding, transportation management, warehousing operations, customs regulations, and global trade compliance.
• Commercial & Vendor Capabilities: Experience running logistics tenders, supplier negotiations, and managing LSP performance.
• Project Management Acumen: Understanding of project management principles and structured project delivery frameworks.
• Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and cross-cultural communication; English fluency, Bahasa Malaysia is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Cross-Functional Interface Coordination: Coordinate logistics interfaces between procurement, project management, legal, tax, customs, and global supply chain teams.
• Risk Mitigation & Proactive Advisory: Identify logistics risks and provide proactive recommendations to support project objectives and milestones.
• Contractual & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with customer mandates, regulations, and project obligations.
• Tender & Supplier Management: Lead logistics tenders and supplier selection, engage and manage transportation and warehousing providers.
• Operations & Trade Compliance: Manage transport, warehousing, customs clearance, import/export, and trade compliance across jurisdictions.
• Project Initiation & Risk Assessment: Lead logistics planning during project initiation, including risk assessments and stakeholder alignment.
• End-to-End Logistics Strategy: Develop strategies for timely, safe, and cost-effective delivery across international supply chains.

You'll create impact by:

Cross-Functional Interface Coordination: Coordinate critical logistics interfaces between procurement, project management, legal, tax, customs, and global supply chain teams to drive continuous performance improvement. Risk Mitigation & Proactive Advisory: Identify and mitigate operational logistics risks while delivering proactive recommendations to support overarching project objectives and timeline milestones. Contractual & Regulatory Compliance: Review contractual logistics requirements to ensure strict compliance with customer mandates, international regulations, and project-specific obligations. Tender & Supplier Management: Lead logistics tenders and supplier selection processes, including active engagement and performance management of transportation and warehouse service providers. Operations & Trade Compliance: Manage transportation, warehousing, customs clearance, import/export operations, and trade compliance activities across multiple international jurisdictions. Project Initiation & Risk Assessment: Lead logistics planning activities during project initiation including logistics risk assessments and reviews, and maintain close alignment with project stakeholders. End-to-End Logistics Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive project logistics strategies to ensure the timely, safe, and cost-effective delivery of materials, equipment, and services across international supply chains.

Your defining qualities:

• - Education: University degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• - Project Logistics Experience: Extensive professional experience managing logistics activities within large-scale infrastructure, transportation, industrial, or engineering project environments.
• - Specialized Industry Exposure: Demonstrated experience supporting the delivery of railway, mobility, or other complex, multi-site international project ecosystems.
• - Technical & Regulatory Expertise: Strong working knowledge of international freight forwarding, transportation management, warehousing operations, customs regulations, and global trade compliance frameworks.
• - Commercial & Vendor Capabilities: Proven experience running logistics tenders, supplier negotiations, and managing logistics service provider (LSP) performance.
• - Project Management Acumen: Solid understanding of project management principles and experience operating within structured project delivery frameworks.
• - Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and cross-cultural communication skills. Fluent in written and spoken English, with Bahasa Malaysia capability regarded as a strong asset for local coordination.
