Job summary

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. in Krubong, Melaka, Malaysia, is seeking a Senior Logistics Executive to manage end-to-end import/export activities, documentation, and coordination with freight forwarders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process import/export declarations and ensure shipping docs are complete.

• Liaise with freight forwarders, couriers, and customs agents for timely delivery.
• Monitor shipment status and resolve delays or customs issues.
• Maintain shipping records, inventory reports, and performance metrics.
• Review freight invoices for accuracy before payment.
• Support annual stock take and cross-functional projects.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve logistics processes.

Job Location: Krubong, Melaka, Malaysia

This position will be located at Krubong, Melaka in a vibrant industrial area. You will experience different exciting local cultures in this historical state.

What you will be doing

• Prepare and process import and export customs declarations and ensure all shipping documentation is complete and accurate.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders to obtain quotations and arrange import and export shipments.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, courier services, transportation providers, and customs agents to ensure timely delivery of goods.
• Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve delivery delays, customs clearance issues, or transportation problems.
• Track and update shipment records, delivery schedules, and logistics reports in the system.
• Verify shipping documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and other required documents.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, import/export requirements, and company policies.
• Coordinate with warehouse, production, purchasing, and customer service teams to ensure smooth material flow and on-time deliveries.
• Monitor inventory movement and perform inventory reconciliation and cycle counts when required.
• Maintain accurate logistics records and prepare monthly shipping, inventory, and logistics performance reports.
• Review freight invoices and shipping charges to ensure billing accuracy before payment processing.
• Assist in evaluating freight forwarders and logistics service providers based on cost, service quality, and delivery performance.
• Support annual stock take activities and inventory audits.
• Identify opportunities to improve logistics processes, reduce transportation costs, and enhance operational efficiency.
• Ensure timely completion of all incoming and outgoing material transactions.
• Maintain proper filing and record retention of shipping and customs documentation for audit purposes.
• Handle customer or internal inquiries related to shipment status, delivery schedules, and logistics issues.
• Support cross-functional projects and perform other logistics-related duties assigned by management.

What you will bring along

• Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Logistics or related field.
• Knowledge of import/export procedures and Malaysian Customs regulations is an advantage.
• Experience in handling LMW (Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse) operations is preferred.
• Familiarity with Incoterms, shipping documentation, and international trade procedures.
• Knowledge of SAP systems and logistics software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Good negotiation and coordination skills when dealing with logistics providers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
