Job summary

Oxydata Software Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is seeking a Senior Linux Administrator to manage enterprise Linux infrastructure in a high-availability data centre.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on Linux experience (Red Hat/CentOS), strong shell scripting, and familiarity with virtualization (VMware/RHEV) and DevOps tools like Ansible or Jenkins. This onsite contract position offers the chance to influence mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Red Hat, CentOS).
• Perform system updates, patch management, and security hardening.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and file systems.
• Implement and manage monitoring tools and respond to system alerts.
• Work with virtualization technologies to create and manage virtual machines.
• Diagnose and resolve system and application-level issues, including root cause analysis and preventive improvements.
• Support DevOps automation initiatives and infrastructure operations.

Requirements

Must-have

• Applicants must have the legal right to work in Malaysia. Visa sponsorship is not available.
• Minimum Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Linux Engineer or Linux Administrator.
• Strong hands-on experience with Linux operating systems (Red Hat, CentOS) and shell scripting.
• Exposure to DevOps practices and automation tools such as Ansible or Jenkins.
• Experience with virtualisation technologies such as RHEV Hypervisor or VMware.
• Experience supporting enterprise Linux infrastructure in data centre or production environments.

Nice-to-have

• Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Familiarity with automation and infrastructure management practices.
• Exposure to DevOps pipelines and infrastructure-as-code environments.
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or telecommunications infrastructure environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
