Job summary

SENSAiO Malaysia Tech Center in Penang seeks a Lead Software Engineer to drive end-to-end software platform ownership, mentor engineers, and collaborate with global teams. You will design and implement production software, own data pipelines, and help build a local engineering organization.

The role involves hands-on development with Node.js/TypeScript, Python/Go/Java, Angular and Ionic, plus cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the software platform, including IoT data pipelines, backend services and APIs, time-series data processing, web and mobile applications, cloud infrastructure and integrations, and monitoring, diagnostics and fleet-management capabilities
• Turn raw sensor data into reliable, actionable information for industrial users
• Develop and maintain Angular web platform and Ionic cross-platform mobile application used by customers and field engineers for sensor commissioning, BLE configuration and diagnostics, device monitoring, fleet management, troubleshooting and maintenance
• Work closely with embedded firmware engineers on end-to-end device-to-cloud architecture, including LoRaWAN payloads and connectivity, BLE tooling, device provisioning, OTA/DFU workflows, fleet diagnostics, and security and device lifecycle management
• Work with the engineering team to industrialize AI and data-driven functionality across the SENSAiO platform, including time-series analytics and anomaly detection, vibration and acoustic classification, predictive diagnostics, edge AI / TinyML deployment, and integration of ML models into production applications
• Own software quality end-to-end through architecture and design reviews, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, documentation and release management
• Recruit software engineers, mentor junior and mid-level developers, establish engineering practices, make architecture and tooling decisions, and develop the local engineering culture
• Contribute directly to SENSAiO's technology roadmap alongside the CTO
