Job summary

Sandisk in Penang, Malaysia, seeks a Software & AI Platform Engineer to drive the next generation of intelligent factory solutions. You will design, develop, and evolve in-house platforms powering automation, analytics, and AI-driven operations across semiconductor manufacturing environments.

Key focus areas include AI capabilities, real-time analytics, and scalable data pipelines, with collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, automation, IT, and operations teams to deliver end-to-end

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, AI or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of software/ platform engineering or data engineering experience.
• Strong programming in Python, C#, JavaScript or similar languages.
• Experience with backend APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, CI/CD and Git.
• Knowledge of manufacturing/industrial automation is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable software platforms for factory automation, analytics and AI apps.
• Build data pipelines, APIs, and backend services for structured and unstructured data.
• Integrate AI capabilities into platforms (ML, generative AI, agents, workflows).
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, IT, and operations to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Develop real-time data processing, event-driven architectures, and streaming analytics.
• Contribute to AI-enabled applications such as agents, recommendations, anomaly detection, CV, or predictive analytics.
• Ensure reliability, data quality, security, testing, and documentation.
• Support interoperability via APIs, microservices, and integration frameworks.
• Engage in architecture discussions, roadmaps, and continuous improvement.
• Stay current with AI, cloud-native systems, and industrial software practices.
