Job summary

Ambition is seeking a technically strong Automation Tester to design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Java and Selenium WebDriver. You will develop reusable automated scripts for web apps and APIs, collaborating with analysts and developers to define effective test strategies.

You will execute automated tests, analyze results, and produce reports, while identifying defects and driving improvements to automation coverage and quality engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or related discipline.
• 7+ years of software testing experience, with at least 4 years hands-on Selenium WebDriver (Java).
• Strong Java programming skills with automation framework development.
• Minimum 3 years API automation testing using RestAssured or similar tools.
• Experience with testing tools like BrowserStack, Postman, and JMeter.
• Familiarity with database querying and validation techniques.
• Solid understanding of Agile, DevOps, and modern software delivery methodologies.
• Experience with Jira or similar test/defect management tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Java and Selenium WebDriver.
• Develop reusable automated test scripts for web applications and APIs using best practices in test data management.
• Collaborate with business analysts and developers to translate requirements into test strategies.
• Execute automated test suites, analyze results, and generate automation reports and dashboards.
• Identify, document, and communicate defects and work with teams to resolve.
• Perform API automation testing using RestAssured across multiple environments.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by enhancing automation coverage and quality practices.
