Job summary

Ambition is seeking a technically strong Automation Tester to design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Java and Selenium WebDriver. You will develop reusable automated scripts for web apps and APIs, collaborating with analysts and developers to define effective test strategies.

You will execute automated tests, analyze results, and produce reports, while identifying defects and driving improvements to automation coverage and quality engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or related discipline.
• 7+ years of software testing experience, with at least 4 years hands-on Selenium WebDriver (Java).
• Strong Java programming skills with automation framework development.
• Minimum 3 years API automation testing using RestAssured or similar tools.
• Experience with testing tools like BrowserStack, Postman, and JMeter.
• Familiarity with database querying and validation techniques.
• Solid understanding of Agile, DevOps, and modern software delivery methodologies.
• Experience with Jira or similar test/defect management tools.

The Role

Build, automate, deliver - here's what you'll be responsible for:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Java and Selenium WebDriver

What We're Looking For

A technically strong, quality-driven automation testing professional:

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 7 years of experience in software testing, including at least 4 years of hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver (Java)
• Strong programming skills in Java with experience building and maintaining automation frameworks
• Minimum 3 years of experience in API automation testing using RestAssured or similar tools
• Experience with testing tools such as BrowserStack, Postman, and JMeter
• Familiarity with database querying and validation techniques
• Solid understanding of Agile, DevOps, and modern software delivery methodologies
• Experience using Jira or similar test and defect management tools
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to understand complex business requirements and translate them into comprehensive automated test scenarios
• Experience working with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams; exposure to the insurance industry is an advantage
