Job summary

EPAM Systems in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, seeks a Senior Java Developer to build and modernize services powering an awards and bonus configuration platform. You will work across Java 17, 19, 21 and legacy monoliths, developing RESTful microservices on AWS.

You will collaborate with a global team to drive modernization, ensure code quality with tests, and own delivery across the full development lifecycle from design through release and support. English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Java 17+ and modern Java versions.
• Experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Design and implement microservices and REST APIs.
• Proficient SQL with relational databases.
• Unit testing with JUnit and Mockito.
• Experience in AWS environments.
• Strong English communication and ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance Java services for awards and bonus configuration.
• Own delivery across SDLC from design to release and support.
• Design, implement and document REST APIs and microservices.
• Improve code quality via unit tests and refactoring.
• Collaborate with business and engineering partners to translate requirements.
• Partner with DevOps to deploy and maintain the app.
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive root-cause fixes.
