Job summary

Risewave Consulting Inc. in Malaysia is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Specialist to manage and maintain servers, storage, virtualization, and network systems, ensuring stability, security, and compliance.

You will handle routine server administration, backups, patching, log analysis, monitoring, DR testing, and IT project participation, with a strong focus on Windows/Linux, VMware, and networking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in system administration, infrastructure management, or a related role.
• Solid understanding of operating systems (Windows/Linux), server management, virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware), and storage solutions.
• Experience with network technologies, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls, and network security.
• Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions, monitoring tools, and system performance tuning.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operation and maintenance of servers, storage systems, and virtualization platforms to ensure system stability, security, and compliance.
• Perform routine server administration, including account management, system patching, backup management, and log analysis.
• Monitor and maintain network and IT infrastructure, troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, and coordinate with vendors when necessary.
• Administer databases and application systems, ensuring high availability, data integrity, and system performance.
• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions, regularly testing recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
• Support IT infrastructure optimization, system upgrades, and technology improvement projects.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge base articles.
• Provide technical support and participate in IT projects, including system implementation, migration, and optimization.
