Job summary

Geohan Corporation Berhad, a Bursa Malaysia-listed geotechnical and foundation specialist, seeks a Senior IT Executive to own the company’s IT infrastructure and support operations across headquarters and project sites nationwide.

You will report to the Head of Digitalisation and manage ERP and SharePoint, data backups, cybersecurity policies, and ICT projects, with strong growth opportunities within the organisation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT/cybersecurity or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years in IT support or IT executive role.
• Hands-on maintenance of IT infrastructure (servers, networks, ERP, apps).
• Experience managing SharePoint and data backup solutions.
• Proficient in hardware troubleshooting and end-user support.
• Vendor liaison experience.
• Aware of cybersecurity practices and policies.
• Willing to travel to vendor sites; HQ-based.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support IT infrastructure across HQ and sites.
• Provide day-to-day IT support to end users.
• Administer ERP and SharePoint; manage permissions.
• Manage data backup processes and security.
• Manage IT assets, procurement, deployment and disposal.
• Negotiate with IT vendors; monitor costs.
• Monitor IT systems performance and propose improvements.

We are seeking a Senior IT Executive to take ownership of the company's IT infrastructure and support operations across headquarters and project sites nationwide. Reporting directly to the Head of Digitalisation, this role offers meaningful involvement in the company's digitalisation initiatives, exposure to enterprise systems, and a clear path for professional growth within the organisation.

Job Description:

• Maintain and support all IT infrastructure, including networks (LAN, WiFi, firewalls), servers, ERP systems and business software applications used by the company.
• Provide day-to-day IT support to end users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, laptop repairs, password resets, network cabling and connectivity.
• Administer and maintain ERP systems, SharePoint (including site management, permissions and user support) and other business applications.
• Manage and monitor data backup processes, ensuring data integrity, security and recoverability.
• Manage IT hardware, digital and electronic asset inventories, including procurement, tracking, deployment and disposal.
• Manage IT software subscriptions and licences, ensuring compliance, timely renewals and cost optimisation.
• Liaise and negotiate with IT vendors and service providers on products, services, contracts and support.
• Monitor performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure.
• Support the company's ICT Projects and Digital Transformation Initiatives in line with company's value and direction.
• In charge of developing and managing ICT policies, cybersecurity procedures and compliance documentation, with guidance from the Head of Digitalisation.

Job Requirement:

• Possess a Bachelor's Degree in IT/cybersecurity or any equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of proven experience in an IT support or IT executive role.
• Proven hands-on experience in maintaining IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, ERP systems and business software.
• Experience in managing SharePoint and data backup solutions.
• Competent in IT support fundamentals: hardware troubleshooting, networking (LAN, WiFi, firewalls), cabling and end-user support.
• Experience in IT asset management and vendor liaison.
• Up to date with current technologies and industry trends.
• Working knowledge of Power BI or cloud infrastructure is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Linux and cloud server management is an added advantage.
• Self-starter, proactive, with a strong desire to learn and strong sense of ownership.
• Based in HQ, willing to travel to vendor locations and may be required to provide ad-hoc support outside standard working hours on an as-needed basis.
