The contract position (1 year) requires deep expertise in electrical and instrumentation systems and coordinating commissioning activities across multiple teams. You will develop commissioning plans, supervise testing, ensure QA, and deliver turnover documentation to Operations. Malaysia-based roles with site exposure in Kuala Lumpur and Sarawak, requiring BEM

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering required.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in instrumentation/ electrical engineering.
• Oil & gas industry experience with commissioning is essential.
• Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills required.

Responsibilities

• Develop commissioning plans and procedures for electrical and instrumentation systems in accordance with project requirements and applicable standards.
• Ensure compliance with project quality procedures, including document control, change control, materials control, field inspection, and testing procedures.
• Lead and coordinate the commissioning team during commissioning and start-up activities.
• Oversee testing and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure compliance with approved procedures, project specifications, and safety requirements.
• Prepare, review, and compile all required turnover documentation for formal handover and custody transfer to the Operations team.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, and operations teams to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth execution of commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical and instrumentation standards, design codes, project specifications, and oil and gas industry construction practices.

Requirement(s):

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in a similar role or capacity.
• Relevant engineering and commissioning experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Good knowledge of international electrical and instrumentation standards, applicable design codes, and industry practices.
• Proven competency in testing and commissioning electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Familiarity with oil and gas construction practices, project specifications, and quality requirements.
• Must be registered as a member of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
• Strong leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead commissioning teams and work effectively with multidisciplinary stakeholders.
